Hi! My name is Barrington and well, as you can see, I'm a bear. But I'm no ordinary bear.

I like to travel around the world. I like to see new places and try new things. I also

like to take pictures of the things I see on my trips. Most of all, I like to share my adventures

with you.

A friend of mine helps me share my adventures with kids everywhere. Kids just

like you. His name is Keith Szafranski (sah-fran'-skee). He lives close to the Montana woods that I call home.

Keith writes picture books about many of my trips.

The first of these picture books is called

Barrington Bear Visits The Emperor-The Emperor Penguin That Is.

It is all about a trip I took to Antarctica to visit an Emperor penguin colony. In the book I talk

to the penguins and find out all about how the Emperors live in such a cold place as Antarctica.

I take lots of cool photographs and even get to play with the young penguins. I had lots of

fun and I am sure you will too.

The second picture book in the series is Barrington Bear On Safari. It is a story

of a trip I took to Kenya in East Africa. On this

trip, I make a new friend and see all kinds of interesting African animals; lions, elephants,

giraffes, zebras and hippos just to name a few. I even get to visit a native African

village and see how some of the local people live. My new friend and guide also teaches me

how to speak a little of the native language which is called 'swahili'. It was lots of fun.

So, come on along and join the adventure!
